A Quiet Place: Day One An Early Stages of Invasion in NYC
A Quiet Place Day One Review
Introdution
A Quiet Place: Day One is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, the creative mind behind the excellent movie Pig with Nicholas Cage. If you haven't seen Pig, it's a mustwatch. This new installment in the A Quiet Place franchise features a woman named Sam, who finds herself trapped in New York City during the early stages of an invasion by alien creatures with ultrasonic hearing.

Revisiting the Quiet Place Franchise
I thoroughly enjoyed both A Quiet Place movies. The
first one was surprising and came out of nowhere with John Krasinski directing
a suspensebased horror movie. The second one continued the story effectively.
What's fascinating about this franchise is that the first two films occur after
the initial invasion, when people have learned how to survive.
The Prequel: Day One
When this prequel was announced, it felt like a natural
progression. The creators of the first movie, Bryan Woods and Scott Beck,
initially wrote a contained, lowbudget film. However, Day One expands the scope
significantly, exploring the chaos of the initial invasion in a major city.
Starring Lupita Nyong'o
Lupita Nyong'o stars in Day One, an excellent casting
choice given her ability to convey emotion without speaking. Her subtle facial
expressions and body language make her perfect for a role in a franchise where
silence is survival.
The Story and Characters
The film focuses on Sam, who is dealing with personal issues while facing the alien threat. Her journey is filled with suspenseful sequences where staying silent is crucial. A notable aspect of the film is the inclusion of an adorable cat named Frodo, adding a charming touch.
The Franchise's Versatile Premise
One of the most impressive aspects of the A Quiet Place
franchise is its versatile premise. The concept of surviving in a world where
any noise can attract deadly creatures is universally compelling. The film
raises questions about the aliens' goals, which remain somewhat ambiguous.
Critique of Character Development
While the movie excels in suspense, it falls short in
character development, particularly for a man Sam meets along the way. His
brief backstory and sudden involvement make it challenging to connect
emotionally.
Conclusion
Despite some shortcomings, A Quiet Place: Day One
offers suspenseful sequences and a strong performance from Lupita Nyong'o.
Michael Sarnoski's direction shines, and I eagerly anticipate his future
projects.
Summery
A Quiet Place: Day One, written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, follows Sam, trapped in New York City during an alien invasion. The film expands the franchise by exploring the initial chaos of the invasion. Lupita Nyong'o stars, using her expressive acting to excel in a role where silence is key. While the movie offers suspense and strong direction, it lacks in character development, particularly for a supporting male character. Despite this, it remains a compelling addition to the franchise, continuing its unique premise of survival in silence. Sarnoski's direction stands out, and his future projects are eagerly anticipated.
